NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE
On Saturday morning, UConn-AAUP and the BOT reached a Tentative Agreement in our negotiations for a successor collective bargaining agreement. At that time, only the 4-C’s Community College unit had not reached an agreement with the Board of Regents. To keep pressure on the Governor to sign off on agreement with them, all of the other state employee bargaining units, including UConn-AAUP, were not able to send out a mass email to their members. Moments ago, the 4-C’s reached agreement.
I first want to take a minute to thank the negotiating team for giving an enormous amount of their personal time to reach this agreement. They are Tom Peters, Lyle Scruggs, Jean McCarthy, Suman Majumdar and David Amdur. We are pleased with the improvements that have been made to the contract and proud of defending the benefits and protections from past negotiations.
It is now time for our membership and the Board of Trustees to ratify the Agreement and send it to the legislature for funding. We will be holding 2 informational meetings for you to review the improvements to the contract. They are:
