  • FOIA Amendment for Higher Education
  • Husky Harvest Food Pantries
  • Member Benefits

FOIA Amendment:  In the 2023 legislative session, UConn-AAUP submitted legislation to amend the FOIA that will provide the University with the necessary tools to immediately deny malicious requests for information that are only intended to harass, intimidate, or discredit scientific research or teaching. Unfortunately, there are specific cases on our campus where members gave first-hand testimony of such harassment. We are planning to re-submit this testimony this legislative session and are looking for new incidents that may have surfaced recently, or other situations that have not been reported to us. Please contact us immediately if you feel you have been subjected to such harassment.

Husky Harvest Food Pantries – Support for our fellow Huskies
The Husky Harvest Food Pantries are operated on each of UConn’s campuses to support food insecurity across UConn. Home | Husky Harvest (uconn.edu) These are open to anyone with a UConn ID.  We wanted to share this information for a variety of reasons – you or someone in your department may need some food items or toiletries or you may be able to donate. Donations of non-perishable food items such as rice, pasta, cereal, condiments, mac and cheese or canned goods are welcomed.  Other items such as toiletries including soap, shampoo, or laundry detergent can be donated.  Information on the pantry, and where to donate for each of the campuses can be found on the Husky Harvest website.

Member Benefits:  Union Plus is offering pet insurance to its union member network. Please follow this link to more information.
