2020-21 Health Care Open Enrollment
The State of Connecticut Health Insurance Open Enrollment period is underway and will end on September 30, 2020. Any changes that you make will be effective October 1, 2020.
As we informed you earlier in the year, Anthem won the contract to provide medical insurance to all state employees. The COVID-19 virus delayed the transfer of the coverage. If you are currently enrolled in UnitedHealthcare/Oxford, you will be automatically transitioned to the equivalent Anthem plan effective October 1, 2020. No action is required for you to plan to enroll in the equivalent Anthem plan.

Course Modality Choice for Spring 2021
The UConn administration has committed to allowing faculty to choose their preferred modality for the Spring 2021 semester. The administration is asking for faculty to work with their department head and determine that modality by Friday, September 25, 2020. PTR and Promotion and Reappointment Processes As we move further into the PTR and Promotion and re-appointment processes for tenure track, tenured, and full-time in-residence and clinical ladder faculty please remember several important things. As a faculty member you have a right to see anything that goes into your PTR or promotion and re-appointment file. You also have the right to respond in writing to anything that is submitted in your file, especially letters from department heads and departmental PTR committees and your Dean and their PTR advisory committees. Faculty should be aware that no anonymous materials can be put into a PTR file not used or referred to in the PTR or promotion and re-appointment processes. For questions about this or your specific case please contact David Amdur or Michael Bailey. Updated Travel Guidance In response to the Governor’s recent executive order on out-of-state travel, Human Resources has provided updated guidance to employees on the process for returning to campus after visiting an Affected State. It has also been posted to the HR website’s COVID travel section. Separate guidance is being issued to employees at UConn Health. This guidance does not address the University’s and UConn Health’s policy with respect to the approval process for business travel to high-risk countries. UConn-AAUP Happy Hour UConn-AAUP will be hosting a Happy Hour on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 5:00 PM, for members who would like to raise their favorite beverage to the crisp October air, and learn about the current Chapter activities. All members are welcome and new faculty encouraged to attend. Two requirements: beverage of your choice and seated outside. (Weather permitting) Please look for the Zoom link in the reminder email.
