On January 9th the UConn-AAUP Executive Committee put together a statement highlighting the concern that the UConn Administration is undermining the University’s core mission. The Full statement can be found here.

Member Meetings on New Collective Bargaining Agreement:
In preparation for ratification of the new collective bargaining agreement, UConn-AAUP will be holding informational sessions to review those articles of the contract which the parties have agreed to thus far. Those dates are:
March 2nd at 1:00 pm
March 5th at 4:00 pm
March 9th at 4:00 pm
March 13th at 4:00 pm

Connecticut For All 2026 Letters to the Finance Committee on the Fiscal Guardrails
The Trump administration has made its agenda clear—benefit billionaires and corporations no matter the cost to working families across the nation. This is unacceptable, and we need to demand that our state leaders stand up for us! Although daily life becomes less affordable because of attacks from the federal government, we have policy proposals to support CT families and undo our own unjust state policies. Connecticut must keep our communities safe by protecting our personal data and safety net programs. We must reclaim the tax money lost at the federal level from people and corporations who are getting preferential treatment from Trump in the largest transfer of money from the poor to the rich that this country has ever seen with a single law. Addressing this crisis is a matter of political will—Connecticut must protect our state and provide stability for our families. It’s time to adjust the State’s fiscal controls to respond to federal cuts to safety net programs. It’s time to adjust the fiscal guardrails!

CT Higher Education Appropriations Press Conference & Testimony
Last week; President Valerie Duffy along with leaders from Higher Education across the state came together in a unified voice calling on Governor Lamont and our Legislative leaders to fully fund higher education. Our legislators are deciding the size and shape of funding for Higher Education and there is a critical need for opportunity for public input.
Over a hundred members came together to write letters and show support for fully funding UConn. Shout out to Mary Beth Allen; Fredrick Biggs and Nathan Adler for staying late into the evening to speak to the Appropriations Committee calling for increased funding to higher education.
