Support of Avery Point Campus Funding

We are thankful for the remarks of Senator Osten, Senator Sommers and Representative Aundre Bumgardner at today’s UConn Board of Trustees meeting. We strongly agree that UConn is an economic driver for Connecticut and specifically for Eastern CT.  The Avery Point campus is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the community, industry, and students.  The need for increased majors and offerings will help Eastern CT continue to grow.  Now is the time to invest in Avery Point by increasing offerings in Academics and investing in housing for students.  We are excited to learn of the state legislature’s willingness to invest state resources in the Avery Point campus and we look forward to working with the state to continue to build and sustain the infrastructure needed to make this growth possible.
