UConn-AAUP continues contract negotiations with the UConn Administration as the UConn community continues to deal with the halting implementation of the Administration’s budget deficit mitigation plan.
Come hear an update on negotiations, from the UConn-AAUP Leadership team on the work that is being done to strengthen our community and how we can stand together through this new landscape.

Dental Plan Changes:
There was a benefit change to coverage for state employees covered under the basic plan that happened on July 1st. The State of Connecticut sent a letter out this week detailing the changes and opening up for members to switch to a different option. The letter indicates that employees may do so up to September 30th, 2025. Check your mail and if you have additional questions reach out to UConn Benefits. Health Benefits | Human Resources

September 18th at Noon: William Tong
Attorney General William Tong has been invited by the UConn labor Coalition to discuss the fightback against federal attacks in higher education, research, and healthcare. This event is at the LOW Learning Center, in Farmington at noon on Thursday, September 18th REGISTER NOW to attend in person or virtually & share your questions in advance.
Last Spring, the American Association of Colleges & Universities circulated a letter that began, “As leaders of America’s colleges, universities, and scholarly societies, we speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education.” In an impressive show of unity, 661 presidents of colleges and universities signed the public letter, including almost all of Connecticut’s public and private colleges and universities. UConn has been an exception among Connecticut’s public higher education institutions, in spite of vocal advocacy by the University Senate and unions representing employees at UConn and UConn Health. To be clear, the advocacy is about more than a single sign-on letter. Especially in light of our state budget shortfalls, our unions are concerned that “laying low” is not a viable strategy to protect UConn’s mission or the research positions that the administration is committed to defending.
